SUMMARY:Ravel Focus Group: Patients Invited to Participate
DESCRIPTION:Share this content:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Camera’s on for this Focus Group to help shape this patient centered health resource platform\, let your voice be heard! \nBelow is a welcome from the Ravel Health developers:\n“Hi everyone\, we’re Jaime and Kevin\, chronic Lyme and mold sufferers who are creating a start-up called Ravel Health to help fellow patients. We’re in the midst of building an online doctor’s office and pharmacy that will offer on-demand physician consults\, diagnostics and treatment protocols\, all in a virtual setting. \nOur own personal journeys and pain points have informed the vision thus far\, but we would love to hear from others in the Lyme and mold community. What are your biggest frustrations? What isn’t working? What can be done better? We want to take all of that feedback and bring it into Ravel so patients have a singular place to go to get care without breaking the bank. \nAs such\, we’d love for you to join us as part of a focus group where we’ll:\n• Provide a quick overview of what we’re up to\n• Have you meet our medical director\n• Do a short demo of the Ravel Health site\n• Ask a few questions to get your insight to make sure we’re on the right track and building something you’ll want to use \n*For anyone who participates in the focus group and signs up on our waitlist\, we’ll be doing a random draw and awarding a free session with a Lyme/mold expert to a select number of participants. \nIf you’d like a little more info\, below is our Mission\, Vision and Values. And if you have any questions in the interim\, please e-mail  jaime@ravel.health or kevin@ravel.health. We hope you’ll join us!” \nRegister to participate in the focus group here \n*COTBDAA does not provide medical advice. SUMMARY:Lyme Disease & Pregnancy
DESCRIPTION:Share this content:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\n\n\nMothers Against Lyme & Project Lyme present an interactive webinar with research program officers from the NIH\nAbout this Event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLyme disease infects nearly half million men\, women\, and children across the U.S. each year. The third most prevalent infectious disease (behind Chlamydia and Gonorrhea\, both STD’s)\, Lyme disease saddles a large percentage of its victims with lingering symptoms\, diminishing their health\, well-being\, and quality of life. When the disease strikes children\, it is especially heartbreaking\, as little ones suffer early in life\, never experiencing a life without the pain of disease. While it is widely accepted that Lyme disease is spread by a tick bite\, it is less well known that the agent of Lyme disease\, Borrelia burgdorferi\, can cross the placenta\, both infecting\, and causing harm to\, unborn children. \nIn partnership with the National Institutes of Health to encourage new research in the field of tick-borne illness\, this webinar will provide researchers the opportunity to learn about the application process and seek guidance from NIH program officers. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to gain access to newly available funds from the Federal government. \nLyme Disease and Pregnancy: State of the Science and Opportunities for Research Support\nAgenda\n1. Lyme Disease and Pregnancy: Why Research is Urgently Needed \nIsabel Rose\, Chair\, Mothers Against Lyme and Board Member\, Project Lyme \n2. Maternal-Fetal Transmission of Lyme Disease: Research Gaps and Opportunities \nSue Faber\, RN\, BScN and President\, LymeHope \n3. NIH Research Opportunities for Maternal and Pediatric Infectious Diseases \nNahida Chakhtoura\, MD\, Maternal and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Program Officer\, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) \n4. Epidemiology and Pathobiology of Lyme Disease: Implications for Research \nHolly Ahern MS\, MT(ASCP); Associate Professor of Microbiology\, SUNY Adirondack \n5. Advancing Research for Tickborne Diseases: Guidance and Resources for Investigators \nMaliha Ilias\, PhD\, Lyme Disease Program Officer\, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) \n6.
