LymeAid 4 Kids Fund

Share this content:

Colorado Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Association (COTBDAA) has been an affiliate member of the Lyme Disease Association (LDA) since we established as a non-profit in 2016.

In memory of LDA president Patricia V. Smith, the LDA has transferred ownership of the LymeAid 4 Kids (LA4K) fund granting program to COTBDAA to continue to provide monies for children in need of Lyme and other tick-borne disease treatment/diagnosis. This program will remain a national level program administered by COTBDAA. Grants will be available to support children from across the US.

Developed with the help of internationally acclaimed author, Amy Tan, the LA4K fund is for children who do not have insurance coverage or receive reimbursement for Lyme and other tick-borne disease treatment/diagnosis, and whose families have economic difficulties. The LA4K fund has provided $475,000 in grants for children throughout the US since 2004. We are thrilled that the same volunteers who worked on this program for LDA will remain with it as it moves to COTBDAA.

Please consider donating in honor of Patricia Smith. Donations may be made online or by check to COTBDAA to grow the LA4K fund in 2024. Grant applications are expected to open in 2025.
