Colorado Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Association provides the COTBDAA Doctor Search System© for patients seeking health care providers who treat Lyme disease, other tick-borne diseases (TBDs), and often associated illnesses. However, some of the providers included in the system do not specifically treat Lyme and other TBDs/Associated Illnesses but see patients who have symptoms associated with Lyme and other TBDs/Associated illnesses to address those specific symptoms.
We do not evaluate the professional competence or qualifications of health care providers on our search list nor the costs of services provided. Accordingly, the COTBDAA neither warrants nor endorses the health care providers contained on this list nor the quality of care you will receive from those providers. We do not make recommendations, we provide access to provider contact information. COTBDAA does not receive any monies from health care providers to be included on this list nor does COTBDAA provide any monies to health care providers. Because of the limited number of health care providers treating chronic Lyme disease and other TBDs/Associated illnesses nationwide, some states, and in some instances, entire regions, may not have any treating providers who follow flexible treating approaches such as those in the International Lyme & Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) Guidelines: Evidence Assessments and Guideline Recommendations in Lyme Disease: The Clinical Management of Known Tick Bites, Erythema Migrans Rashes and Persistent Disease. In the event that the COTBDAA Doctor Search System© contains no Lyme, other TBD/Associated Illnesses resource listings in a given area, the closest possible option(s) will populate based on the zip code entered and category/ies selected.
COTBDAA Doctor Search System© can not accept nor reply to any comments/questions on:
- What insurance a doctor accepts or does not accept, or if any insurance is accepted.
- How listed doctors practice or any other aspect of the doctor-patient relationship.
- The cost or fees charged by any healthcare provider.
- Why a particular doctor is or is not listed.
- Request for providers that treat COVID-19, although some of the providers in the system may treat COVID.
We cannot guarantee that the information provided will be timely and accurate or that health care providers on the list are accepting new patients, or that they accept insurance. The selection of a health care provider should be made by you after careful consideration. There are two approaches in the treatment of Lyme disease. Our database contains providers who generally follow more flexible treatment approaches than those advocated by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). COTBDAA is not responsible for incorrect information in the Doctor Search System. Providers often relocate and addresses may change. We update listings as we are notified.
