Colorado Governor, Jared Polis, has signed a proclamation for Lyme and Other Tick-Borne Disease Awareness Month in May! As the distribution and prevalence of ticks and tick-borne diseases continues to increase at a national level…so must awareness. Though Colorado is considered a “low incidence” state,  we are home to a growing number of people that have been touched by Lyme and/or other tick-borne diseases here in Colorado and from travel throughout the United States and the world. People, pets, and livestock and wildlife are all susceptible to many of the infections that can be acquired through the bite of a tick.  The sooner a tick-borne disease is diagnosed and properly treated, the better the outcome for the patient. Awareness of these diseases needs to increase faster then the spread of the diseases.  A growing number of patients are living with debilitating symptoms and chronic disease.  For these and other events taking place in Colorado and beyond please visit our events page here!
